Minding My Black Owned Business:
Vendor Expo: How it All Started!
From a thought to an event hosted annually, 100 Black owned businesses were represented from Central Arkansas. MMBOB is here to break down barriers meant to divide our community.
Our first year's expo was a successful event, hosted at Loft 1023 in downtown Little Rock, AR. there were over 50 black owned businesses represented with more than 200 guests in attendance.
MMBOB is a non-profit organization created to connect black owned businesses to their local communities, amplify resources, and supply them with a platform. Alongside this mission, MMBOB plans to revive Black Wall Street locally to pay homage to what we once lost.
Shining a light on Black owned businesses in Arkansas
The amount of support for this event was beyond anything we could have imagined.
The City of Little Rock's Small Business Development Coordinator, Derrick Rainey, was a great asset to the event. He enjoyed both talking with patrons about resources available to small businesses in Central Arkansas and getting to visit with each of the businesses represented.
