Every year, Black Friday brings massive crowds, overflowing carts, long lines, and billion-dollar corporations cashing in on one of the biggest retail days in America. But somewhere along the way, the heart of our community was left behind.

This year, Minding My Black Owned Business, Inc. (MMBOB) is presenting a different approach — one rooted in intentionality, community, and circulation. We call it the Black Friday Shift: a movement away from overconsumption and toward empowerment.
The Truth Behind Black Friday
For decades, Black Friday has funneled billions of dollars out of Black communities. National studies show that the dollar circulates 6 hours in Black communities before exiting — compared to 20–30 days in others. This means:
Wealth leaves faster
Businesses struggle to grow
Community resources weaken
But when we support Black-owned businesses, we fight back with purpose.

The Shift We’re Creating
MMBOB’s first-ever Black Friday Pop-Up Shop is more than an event — it’s a statement.
We’re saying:
Our entrepreneurs deserve visibility
Our families deserve ownership
Our dollars deserve community circulation
Our businesses deserve a seat at the holiday shopping table
On Friday, November 28 (8 AM–4 PM) at The Shops @ 801 Station, we’re creating a space where buying Black is not an afterthought — it’s the main event.
Why This Pop-Up Shop Matters
This event gives Black-owned businesses:
✔ A high-traffic shopping day
✔ An audience that wants to buy Black
✔ A platform to scale visibility
✔ A chance to close the year strong
And for shoppers? It’s a chance to gift consciously, support local, and invest in Arkansas families.
Be Part of the Movement
Whether you're a business owner or a community member, you have a role in rewriting the Black Friday story.
